Music Progress Reports
Are you wondering how you
got that “Outstanding” comment?
Note: Remember a comment is not a grade.
A comment is merely a comment.

Satisfactory – In my class satisfactory means that you have been doing your job. You could have an A in my class and still get satisfactory. It’s not a bad comment to get. However, if you want to move it up a level see description for outstanding below.

Oustanding – Congratulations outstanding means you went above and beyond!!! Maybe you stopped to help instruct another student. Maybe you came to a before or after school event. Jazz Band, Advanced Band and Extra Help Night can all help you get outstanding. Maybe I have noticed that you are an especially hard worker who looks for opportunities to participate consistently in class. Maybe you are a section leader. There are other ways too. Whatever it is, I saw you go above and beyond in some way. I am truly impressed!

Needs Improvement  - For most people it is just that you continue to be unprepared for class. The best way to be successful in my class is to be participating. You can’t do that if you don’t have what you need to play. Please make sure whatever it is you fix it so I can start giving you a more positive report.

I will truly miss last years eighth grade as they move on to the High School. I am sure that our High School director Mr. David Enos will be very excited to take you to that next level. There is a lot more in store at the high school as you all move forward and I think you are going to really enjoy the experiences awaiting you there.
Good Luck and I look forward to seeing you at your concerts.

As I turn back to the Middle School, I look forward to what next years eighth grade will be able to do. I am also excited to see our returning seventh grade band and to welcome our incoming sixth graders in the fall.

See You All Soon!
Enjoy The Summer!

Spring Concert Performance Schedule

Dear Parents,
We have a very exciting schedule of upcoming events. We have a number of performance opportunities for our LMS Bands. The students have been working hard and I am proud to announce that they are really developing into great musicians. The music isn’t perfect yet, but it sounds better every week. We have a couple a few weeks to go and when the time comes I think you will be very impressed with these groups.
We do not practice as a group unfortunately so rehearsals are extremely important.  A mandatory rehearsal is required for each performing group. After rehearsal students may be picked up or take the late bus home. Students who do not participate in these rehearsals may be asked not to perform in the performance at the discretion of the teacher. In order to look professional and appropriate at all events students should remember to White Shirts and Black Pants or LMS Band Shirts when appropriate.
As always it is very important that all students are at these events. Every member of our band is important to our success and every one of these playing opportunities is an educational experience for the students. If a student cannot attend an event please contact me to let me know. If students miss concert events they will be asked to do a homework assignment based on the event to make up for the missed experience.
In closing. I really can’t wait to see all of you at these performances and if you would like to lend a hand in any way please contact me. We have a really great band program here at Lincoln Middle School thank you for your commitment and contributions as we continue our success.

Thank You For Your Support,
Mr. Casale LMS Band Director
